tools i use
honest opinions included. your mileage may vary.
i've been building web apps for 4 years and counting — mostly vue on the frontend and express or nestjs on the backend. day-to-day i work with vue 3, tailwind css, and mysql. professionally i also maintain wordpress sites and customize odoo erp modules. here's what's currently in my toolkit, ranked roughly by how often i reach for it.
daily drivers
my first love. tried react, came back.
my go-to for styling. fast to prototype, easy to maintain.
the whole setup — extensions, snippets, keybindings.
can't live without it. rebase > merge, fight me.
it has its quirks but it's home.
design to dev handoff made easy. use it for everything.
pair programming with ai. speeds up the boring parts.
backend picks
simple, flexible, gets the job done.
when i need more structure. angular vibes but for backend.
reliable. used it for bud and never had issues.
perfect for side projects. zero setup.
the serious one. solid for production workloads.
things i'm learning
slowly converting. the type safety is growing on me.
containerize all the things.
e2e testing that actually makes sense.
platforms i work with
gets the job done for client sites. huge ecosystem.
erp that does a lot. customizing it is its own skill.
tried and moved on
too much boilerplate for my taste. respect it though.
we all started somewhere.
tailwind ruined me for this.
